Information about the cookies used on the Veternis website and how to manage them.

1. What is a cookie?

Cookies and similar technologies are small records kept in your browser as you use the site; they remember the choices you make or measure how the site is used. This policy covers the marketing website. The Privacy Notice identifies the controller and explains your data rights.

2. Remembering your choices

Whether you accepted or declined analytics is stored in your browser, so you are not asked again on every visit. This record measures nothing and is not sent to a server on its own. It has no automatic expiry; changing your choice updates it and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Your language choice is kept in the same way. It is written only when you use the language button and is used to send you to the page in that language on your next visit; your browser's language setting is not consulted. Switching to the other language updates it.

These records are used only to remember your choices. To the extent they constitute personal data, they rest on the legitimate interest of applying and remembering preferences under KVKK Article 5(2)(f).

3. Optional Google Analytics

When analytics is configured, Google Analytics 4 loads only after you accept. Declining prevents the analytics script from loading. If analytics is not configured, analytics cookies and the consent banner are not used.

Google Analytics places analytics cookies in your browser to tell visitors and sessions apart (the entries starting with “_ga” in your browser). Their default lifetime is 2 years, may be renewed on visits and may be shortened by the browser. Analytics processing relies on explicit consent under KVKK Article 5(1).

Measurements may include page views, browser/device information, language, link clicks and signup success or failure. The website code does not add the form’s email address to analytics events.

Analytics is enabled and runs only after you accept. Measurement data is processed by Google and may be transferred to servers abroad, including in the United States. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address; Google signals and advertising use are switched off by the site, and measurement data is kept for at most 14 months. Section 4 of the Privacy Notice covers service providers abroad.

4. Changing your choice

Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choice. Declining stops subsequent analytics tracking, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. It does not automatically delete data already sent to the provider.

You can also remove these records entirely in your browser’s site data settings. Removing the preference record prompts a new choice on your next visit. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the signup form.
